FHE! But at Pinkberry. FPE?

 So Toph and I have been real sucky at having FHE the four years we've been married. I said it.

Since B's getting older every second, we're working on getting better at having a weekly family night, complete with a short lesson and a fun activity that he can remember with fondness (or at least something other than embarrassment ... hopefully).

Here's what we managed to do last Monday:

A "thank you for nature" walk where we stopped to smell the flowers. A lot.

 We also jumped off some rocks. Nothing embarrassing here, right?

 Guess where our walk took us?? OMGosh, their new peanut butter flavor is di-freaking-vine!

 After we got home, B went off to bed and we whipped out the Connect Four.

I lost so.many.times. It was enough to make me go Godzilla.

Hahabahahabaha!

Family time is a must. And fun. And we're working on it.

If you spend a lot of time doing something stupid, can you still call it "the better part of my day?" 

As in, "I spent the better part of my Saturday watching a My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding marathon on TLC."

I so want a huge dress (like those 16 year old brides totally rock) just to have hanging around in my closet. 

You know, to keep my actual wedding dress company. The one that's currently just hanging around in my closet.

Memories in the making

Things I did in the car today to keep B entertained for our 11 hour drive:

• shovel sugar into him
• sing to/at him
• let him watch 17 Again a million times (the two b-ball scenes=true love)
• promised him all sorts of goodness and rainbows if he'd just flipping be happy til we got there

 ...

"Roadtrip" has a whole meaning when you have a kid. 

I mean, it can still equal napping+music+snacking all day, but you also have to factor in crying+demands+diaper soilage. 

Umm, can I get a refund?

-We met J Biebs at the outlets!!!! Carlos was so excited she wet her pants. And mine. :(

-Then I came home to my real boyo. :)

There's a just me+B roadtrip coming up. So we dated.

So we're (me+B) going to Utah to take my little brother to BYU this week.
To lessen the sting of me being gone we went on a mini family date to Target. 
Toph misses us a lot when we're gone. Mostly B, his fave little buddy.
They're so close and it's freaking adorable.
Now: Road trip!! + we pray that B does well in the car ...

Toph promised to go get Pinkberry right after B went to bed. 

So of course B won't go to bed. 
He keeps yelling while pounding on his door,  "I habe bed!!" 
Two things: How did you learn the word hate and: Duh. I already know you "habe" bed.


Oh, and one more thing: Get over it. 
It's Pinkberry time.

 but the apparently the living room rug trumps the toddler bed.

the boy is back

My brother spent the last 2 years serving in the Russia, Samara mission (hello, we're Mormon). 

He came back Monday night & since then we've been catching up, eating Russian chocolates, & watching some of the good movies that came out over the past 2 years with him (HP7P2 finally!). 

Here's a peek at what I've been up to:

 Waiting at the airport. Seeing him get off the plane. Hugs all around!

We made matching shirts & brought USA flags so he'd know we were his for reals fam+that he was back in America 

(this is everybody in my immediate family minus one. Wish you were here Lyssa!!).
