best of 2009!

(Oh my gosh. Can he be this little and this Harry forever? Please?)

-Toph got in to UC Davis!
-Toph graduated from BYU!
-I survived natural childbirth+41 weeks of being preggo!
-B finally got to come home from the hospital after 9.long.days. :)
-We moved  back to CA!
-We love Davis!!
-Toph started Law school.
-We celebrated so many big firsts with baby B. :)

I'm sad to see 2009 go. It was maybe the best year of my life so far. I bet 2010 will put up a good fight for that title though. We have so many fun things to look forward to with this little nugget baby now in our lives. Oh how we LOVE this kid. Happy new year!

November 30, 2009

his first ever turkey day!!

Bronson with Grandma and Grandpa Tuttle!

We went down to Upland for Thanksgiving  this year and I'm pretty sure B was held the entire time. Everybody loves our little nugget boy and I so don't blame them. He's the best thing that's ever happened to us and we're SO thankful to have in our fam forever! The highlights of the trip were B sleeping through dinner so that I could eat, laughing our brains out with Tracy+Davey, and the stuffing. Oh how we loves carbs in team Tuttle.

November 1, 2009

Another very Harry holiday

exhausted after fighting Lord Voldy all day!)

A pumpkin onesie? Not for this kid, I decided we were gonna be Harry Potter and his crew forev ago and we did it! B of course was our faithful hero, I got to be crazy haired Hermione, and Toph was very convincing as my lover boy Ron. I made our costumes in ten minutes right before we had to leave to make it to the party. Typical. My fave part is of course the lightening bolt scar+B's little pipe cleaner glasses. I wish he could wear them forever!! Oh what the heck, we'll let him.

September 20, 2009

these cheeks: they are sweet.

This kid has cheeks for days.
Toph's fave thing is to drive the shopping cart over the yellow dots in front of the grocery store and watch
B's little nugget cheeks bounce all over the place.
I always tell him to stop but let's be real: it's adorable and hilarious and I love it.
Best parents ever?

September 15, 2009

name+blessing weekend

(B screaming it up in Uncle Stanley's blessing outfit. Typical.)

B's blessing day was one of the best days of all time. Toph gave him a simple and sweet blessing (I remember he said he would have no trouble making friends, that's right!) and I bawled my eyes out the whole time. For a while now I've sat through tons of other baby blessings (hello! life in Provo) so finally seeing my own little boy being blessed by my own worthy husband was incredible. I'll never forget that feeling. It was also really fun to have everybody come to town to see our little nugget on his big day. There were over 20 people in our teeny tiny apartment! Shoot.
PS: I can't believe B's already 8 weeks old!! Motherhood makes time fly.

baby baby

In my completely unbiased opinion: This kid is the best baby ever.
He sleeps a lot and smiles often.
He makes us laugh and squeaks out the cutest little cooing noises.
He nurses like a champ and loves his daddy.
He adores long walks in the arboretum with mom.
Oh man. We.are.smitten.
Good thing this is a forever thing, that just might be long enough.

August 25, 2009

he won't be this little for long

Every time I have to get up in the middle of the night with Bronze, I'd rather be sleeping.
Truthfully. I love sleep. I have to pep talk myself into enjoying those night time moments every time by remembering,
"He won't be this little for very long. Soak in the newborn-ess."
And then I do. I soak it in like it's never been soaked before.

I can't believe I have a baby!!!
Soak soak.

August 14, 2009

holy exhausted

The worst part is: It's not Bronson that's getting in the way of peaceful slumber. He sleeps like a champ. It's my boobs.
If I don't wake the kid up to eat every 2 hours, we'll have a major problem. Holy cow.
My mom said, "You won't have to set an alarm clock anymore.
Your boobs will be one from now on."
Words of wisdom. I might needlepoint that on a pillow.

thoughts on motherhood so far.

Motherhood so far ... well it's only been a month but so I can honestly say it's been the best thing ever. I love this little kid more than I ever thought possible. I feel like I've learned so much about what I'm capable of and in such a short amount of time. Never sleeping, nursing, labor; I'm like a freaking super hero! Haha. Not really but I really do love being a mom. I kinda have the urge to tell everyone to have a baby because it's the best thing ever! I'm refraining though, promise. I've never loved Toph more and I'm so excited to see what our little boy becomes. Life is pretty great. AND: I'm so tired!

law school here we come

(Basically what he did the whole trip. He didn't cry at all!! Whew.)

We moved! We left the only home we've ever know as the Tuttles and moved from Provo, UT to Davis CA. B did excellent even though he had to sit in the car for two days as we drove slowly to accommodate the moving truck. Which Toph had the pleasure of driving all by himself. You're a good man, Topher Tutt! I just had to sit in the passengers seat while my mom drove our car for us.
Pumping in the car is super easy, FYI.
Anyway, we're so happy to be back in CA!!

July 23, 2009

b comes home!!

(here you are with three of your aunts at HOME! they made you that awesome poster too!)

Today was even better than the day you were born. Today we took you home. To our home.
To be a little family. It was so weird driving in the car with you for the first time, Dad drove so slowly and I was a nervous wreck the whole time. I wanted to open the window and scream, "Hey! We've got some uber precious cargo on board so back off!" to all the other drivers. We went through the drive thru at Arby's on the way and had our very first little family date.
The first of many. Welcome home, we're so glad to have you!!
Love, Mom+Dad

July 20, 2009

he's in the hospital. and I want him to come home.

It's unbelievably weird to go to the hospital pregnant and then leave without a baby. That's what we've been doing for the past few days since B was born. They decided he needed to stay in the NICU for a 7 day course of antibiotics (maybe he has pneumonia?) so we've been coming and going each day to be with him, sleep, and pack for the move next week. Pumping has been real fun let me tell you. Not being able to hold him for the first three days was another fun thing. Nope, nothing is fun about any of this. But now we're grown ups and we have to deal with things we don't love because they're what's best for our boy. I keep wishing the doctors will just say, "He seems perfect today! Take him home. NOW!" It breaks my heart to leave him in that little box at the end of each day. I never, never, never thought it would feel like this to be a mom. Constant worry, crying all the time, complete exhaustion; he's worth it but it's so hard.

July 16, 2009

we're so pleased to introduce:

Our perfect, amazing, adorable little boy was born finally! The first words I said after he arrived were, "I did it!!!" and "Never again!"  Holy cow, labor is exhausting and awesome. Toph was the best coach ever. He fanned me for like three hours since I was burning up (even though everyone else in the room was freezing, the lady in labor chooses the AC temp. that's the rule.), prayed for me, gave me several blessings, talked to the doctors and nurses for me and supported me in my natural birth plan. I made it too! The whole thing was just over 20 hours and most of that was pitocin induced. (I hated the pitocin!!) After 2 hours of pushing, B arrived on the scene and we all forgot about the longest day ever. Bronson is seriously the clone of Toph. When they put baby B on my chest and he looked up at me it was so surreal, they look so much alike. We're officially a family and I am so stinking happy. I love my boys. And I love that I can say that now: boys. Plural. AND: I'm not pregnant anymore!!!! This is an excellent day. I even got a milkshake.

STILL preggo

(30 weeks. I haven't taken any pics in a while. I'm DONE.)

Hey kid,
You can come out now. Gma's here and I'm so ready to meet you+not be pregnant anymore+
get my body back. Any day. Seriously. Except maybe you could just come out all nice and quick and while I'm asleep? Then I could just wake up and you'd be there and we could skip the whole "Holy crap!!! This hurts!!!" labor thing? Your call. Either way:
Love, Mom

the state of the union- 2

(here's an old one since I'm over getting my picture taken while preggo. no joke.)

TWO YEARS?! I seriously don't get how life can go so fast. But yep, it's been two years since these two crazy kids tied the knot. This anniversary rocked because I was in charge. Did somebody say: Staycation?! So I got us a hotel room in the very exotic locale of Orem, UT and we had a mini little vaycay for the night. I'm sooo stinking pregnant now that driving anywhere very far is no bueno plus Toph has to work this week anyway. Happy two years, Toph! I can't believe this is our last anniversary being childless. Not that I feel very childless right now. No, right now I feel like the child that's living INSIDE of me is forcing me to run to the bathroom. Again. What was life like before being pregnant? I can't remember. 10 more weeks!!!!

April 30, 2009

BAM: Toph graduated too!

Good job Toph, you finally caught up to us class of 2008-ers!
Graduation day was a blast, we saw all the fam and had some delicious Pizza Factory. And I wore heels even though my feet are as swollen as watermelons. SO hot. I also might've "accidentally" deleted all the pics of me from the day because I'm getting so swollen and huge but don't worry, I was there. Trust me.

Next stop: UC Davis!!
(Toph took the LSAT last fall and we've been waiting to hear if he got accepted since then.
Well we're in and so excited!)

April 13, 2009

pregnancy as described by meredith

 (28 week bump)

Pregnancy is .... weird. The worst parts of it have been my hands falling asleep all the time, my ankles getting super swollen, and having to pee every 2 seconds. Other than that, it's just kinda like living life but fatter. And with an alien in your stomach that kicks you all day long. I'm getting super excited to see this little boy though! I was washing some of his clothes the other day and everything was so cute and tiny. I'm pretty sure we're gonna have a big little one so some of them may never even fit him though. Oh well. I'll just hang the extra tiny ones on his walls. They're all washed and ready to go anyway.

February 27, 2009

the preg lowdown

 20 weeks!!

This kid is pretty much made of:
>cheesy fiesta potatoes from Taco Bell
>Jamba Juice

This has been such an easy pregnancy. Not that I have anything else to compere it too. Well, actually I can compare it to all the other pregnant chicks in my ward right now (there are ballpark: a million of us currently. the line in  the bathroom right after Sacrament meeting is insane) and they all seem to have it way worse. Sickness and exhaustion and missing work/school. I've been at work everyday (blerg) and sleeping fine and having enough energy. I'm not super woman or anything but maybe this kid is super fetus and is helping me out? Yeah probably.

February 18, 2009

it's a ....

Booyah, I was so right! Also, you know how sonograms are so boring and hard to figure out? Yeah well, when it's a sonogram for your very first baby and they're all little and cute and you see that mini profile for the first time it's not boring. Not all all. It's more like the best thing ever and the best reason to skip work ever. We went and met our little fetus boy and then got lunch at Kneaders afterwards. I love how the waitresses there spell Toph's name wrong, but a different way wrong, every time.  Tofe loves it too.

February 15, 2009

valentines day with the preggo lady

(19 weeks!!) We love Macaroni Grill. Toph was in charge of Valentines this year and he went all out with notes, candy and dinner+book perusing at Borders. It was a fab date. The most exciting thing coming up though is that we get to find out if we're having a boy or a girl in just a few days!! I pretty much KNOW it's gonna be a boy but we're still really excited to see the sonogram+find out for sure. But yeah, it's so boy. I haven' been sick and in my fam that=boy. My mom always said boys make you sick later on in life so don't worry about the lack of morning sickness while preggo, it'll come. Yay.

January 20, 2009

ANNNNNE!+me. and i'm pregnant. weird.

Anne and I got to hang out tonight while Toph was at work! It's really weird that I'm like 4 months preggo and she's still dating it up and living the single life. To bridge the gap we just ate tons of carbs and took crazy photobooth pictures. It's all good. Anne's the best! I really miss hanging out with her all the time. She's planning to go on mission so we'll be even farther away someday. NOOOO! I better live it up while we still live in the same town!!
