girl trip 2012- Tahoe

The last stop on our trip was Lake Tahoe, it was my fave! The water was incredibly blue and tropical but the trees surrounding everything were all Narnia-esque. Northern CA is a great mix of different landscapes. As we were heading back home we took our sweet time, stopping at shops and stores along the way that looked interesting. One stop was at this little thrift store where I scored a bunch of stuff on the 25 cent rack. I couldn't resist getting some fun vintage pieces for the little lady Tuttle and at 25 cents a pop, no harm done. The girl trip was awesome (thanks mom!) and I can't wait to do it again in another 50 years!! Or sooner, whatev.
PS: OH YEAH: I almost DIED when we were driving those narrow, windy Tahoe roads. Never never never again, she hoped. We can find a wider/lower to the ground route next time. Right??

girl trip 2012: San Fransisco

Day two was Les Mis!!! My family is obsessed with Les Mis. We sang the songs and watched the concert non stop growing up. I read the book when I was 15 and my sister saw the play performed live in London a few years ago. To finally see the play myself was incredible. I was most impressed by the scenery, sets, orchestra and The Orpheum theater itself. The end when all the actors came out and bowed was so awesome too, everyone looked so excited and proud of their work.
After the play, we hit Ghirardelli square to get samples (maybe more than one ... ), walk around in the freezing SF weather (soooo nice) and shop in all the fun toy stores. Such an awesome day!
PS: My fave song in Les Mis is Stars. One Day More is for sure runner up.

girl trip 2012: Filoli

2012= My mom turning 50, my older sister turning 30, me turning 25, and my younger sister turning 20. To celebrate all of these milestones (plus my littlest sister and my sister in law, no big birthdays for these two this year but they had to come along because it wouldn't have been as fun without them!!) we planned a girl trip for this summer and we just went last week.
It was a week of no toddlers (I missed Bronson like a crazy woman though!), shopping, delish food, watching the Olympics til midnight, sightseeing, driving all over California, and much cooler weather (hallelujah).
We hit several CA spots we'd never been to before and day one was Filoli. The gardens were gorgeous, the cafe was too good, and the nap I took during the tour video was uber refreshing.
Public displays of drowsiness. Keeping things classssy.
